I do honestly realize that a few days ago I posted in support of this guy but this latest newsbyte makes me scream. You are allowing a major developer to add yet another overpriced, gaudy, and wholy traffic (read:car) inaccessable hotel in a location where you could have built a library to add to the richness and education of your city? Really? Are you actively trying to piss off your supporters?? Because I'll tell you... this takes the cake. I am now firmly one foot in the "We think Fenty is a Douche" camp.
He took a prime opportunity to help out the community and redeem himself in light of last week's FOP fiasco and wiped his ass with it.
Great job, Mr. Mayor! What'll ya do tomorrow? Put a state of the art playground, complete with jungle gym, right in front of the Children's Hospital to mock all those sick kids?? Gonna steal some candy from a baby while you're at it???

But... with the general "quality" (and I use the word dubiously) of the libraries in our lovely city, sometimes I question how much they actually add to "the richness and education of" our city. They're sort of, um, poorly run. And awful. Know what I mean?
I was thinking more the librarians, or people behind the help desks, who so far have proven to be useless every time I've been in there (or other branches), or the fact that the website is less than reliable and the hold system is sketchy at best. (but the fine system works great!)
But newer would be nice! Less fluorescent is always a step in the right direction!
